Announcements


 At approximately 7pm (JST) on 31 October there were some problems with the PC version of LINE. Some users may have experienced random messages from unknown users during their chats caused by temporary system problems which occurred for a few minutes. We have rushed to fix this and the problems have now been rectified. 

 In addition to fixing the problem, we have also deleted the contents of the messages sent from unknown users and you should be able to login an enjoy the PC version of LINE without any further problems. 

 Furthermore, those who were forcefully logged out of the PC version of LINE during the problem will be able to login as normal. 

 If you were affected please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused on this occasion.

 We will of course, keep working hard on improving the stability of our systems. 

 Thank you very much for reading and please continue to enjoy our LINE service. 

 We will be releasing a formal statement about this issue at a later date.

Stickers


*Don’t worry iPhone users! They will be available to you soon! (22nd Oct)

Up until now, we’ve released a whole range of stickers featuring exciting characters at our Sticker Shop but we know you have all been waiting for these! 

After receiving many requests from our users from all over the world, we’ve finally made this happen with our good friends at Disney!

Mickey Mouse will be featured in our first set. Our designers teamed up with Disney and thought long and hard about what sort of expressions will be useful to you in your LINE chats. The result is an all original design featuring over 40 stickers!

At the moment the stickers are available in Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, and Brunei.

Of course, you will be able to find Mickey’s happy smiles, but also stickers of him studying, being in love and much more! They’ll be one to suit every occasion and as a bonus, Mini Mouse will be joining Mickey in some of the stickers too!

After Mickey Mouse, stickers featuring other Disney characters including Mini Mouse and Winne the Pooh will be released (YEY !), and there are also plans to create seasonal versions of Disney stickers especially for Christmas, New Years Festivals, and other yearly events.

Services


We have been aware of the annoying issue where iPhone5 users and those using iOS6 have been repeatedly asked to enter their Apple ID and password every time they start LINE. We do apologize for the problem.

We are still trying to get to the bottom of the issue. In the mean time, you can get rid of the problem by following the steps below. 


■Enter the [Stickers] menu and [Restore Sticker Purchases]
1. Start LINE and tap [More] > [Settings]

4. Scroll to the bottom and tap [Restore Sticker Purchases]

5. Enter your Apple ID password

Once you have carried out the above steps, you should no longer be prompted to enter your Apple ID details.

However, we are aware of cases where you may be asked to enter your Apple ID details once again after starting LINE. If you are prompted to do so, please don’t panic! After entering your Apple ID once more, you will no longer need to do so in the future.

If by any chance, the problem still hasn’t been sorted out after trying the above, please try signing out and then back in with your Apple ID as follows.

■If the steps above do not fix the problem:
　
1. Sign out of your Apple ID
1-1. Open your iPhone [Settings] and go into [iTunes Store/App Store]

1-2. Tap your own Apple ID [Apple ID: XXXXX (Your ID) XXXXXXX]

2. Start LINE without logging into your Apple ID
3. Try the steps above (Restoring Sticker Purchases from the Stickers menu) 
4. Enter your Apple ID and password again

After doing this, the problem should be fixed and you should no longer be asked to enter your Apple ID.
Hurray!

We’re sorry if you have been affected by this problem. 
Of course, we will keep working on removing bugs as well as improving our existing functions, so please continue to enjoy LINE and keep your chats fresh, fun and friendly!

Wow! Just when you thought you had them all! We have just released another 7 sticker  sets at the LINE Sticker Shop. 

This time, LINE’s first ever official account holder, Becky, has produced some of her own original characters! Also, for all you Japanese anime fans - don’t miss Ojarumaru with his beady eyes!

Singer and all-round talented artist Becky has joined the Sticker Shop craze to produce 16 of her very own stickers. The characters, Bekiko and rabbit Bekio are here to bring you some well-deserved happiness through your LINE chats.

Becky says, “I thought a lot about the colors and expressions of the characters when I created these stickers. I especially like the sparkling Bekiko (top row, second from the left)! I hope everyone can enjoy using Bekiko and Bekio in their chats with their closest friends.”

So use Becky’s original stickers and put a smile on the faces of those you love, just like Becky is in this picture!

Thanks to all our wonderful users, we’ve reached the 65 million* user mark in just about a year and 3 months since the LINE app was released! This happened on Sunday, 30 September and needless to say, we are absolutely delighted!

Currently, LINE is used in over 230 countries all throughout the world, and is available on a range of different devices including iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry. 

Of course, we always try our very best to make all the LINE features available for the different devices, but there have been cases where this has not been possible and we are sorry about this.

The other day, we released an update for iOS (iPhones) version 3.1.2, equipped with many more features which were, up until then, only available on the Android version.

★Home & Timeline

You can now post stickers!
In addition to usual messages, videos, photos and location information, you can now post your favorite stickers too!

Reply directly to comments!
You can now reply directly to specific comments/friends with this new reply feature. After posting your reply, a notification will be sent to that friend! No more missed comments with this feature!


★Managing Friends

Add friends to “Favorites”
If you have certain friends you contact frequently, you can Favorite them and they will appear at the very top of your Friends list!

Edit your friend’s name
Make your friends easier to recognize by changing the name they appear under, on your  Friends list. 

New option to hide friends
Hide friends you don’t contact that often from your Friends list without blocking them.

Introduce Friends
You can now send your friend’s LINE details to your other LINE friends.


★Chat while on a call & stronger security features

Call and message simultaneously
You can now message your friends while on a LINE voice call. Simply close the voice-calling screen and use LINE as usual!

Strengthened security for Email Registration
You are now required to enter your previous password when changing the password for Email Registration.

Clearer Terms
When registering to LINE, we’ve added a couple of sentences explaining how your profile photo and display name can be viewed by others.
